Motorola Evoke QA4 debuts in US

Motorola has launched a new slider phone that promises to be suited for the "socially-inclined" on Monday.

Called the Motorola Evoke QA4, the new device will sport a 2.8-inch WQVGA 240 x 400 display touchscreen with on-screen keyboard, although still offering a slide out traditional keypad for those still not sure.

Similar to Samsung and LG offerings, the phone will allow you to customise the homescreen content with widgets and personalised RSS feeds.

“We understand the importance of having a mobile phone that helps you stay connected simply and seamlessly with your friends and family, whether you prefer to talk, text or network”, said Mark Shockley, corporate vice president and general manager, Motorola Mobile Devices, bigging up the device.

Users will also be able to share videos and photos to popular sharing sites such as Picasa from the phone according to Motorola.

Tech specs include CDMA and EVDO connectivity, A-GPS, an accelerometer, an average 2-megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom, Bluetooth and 256 MB of internal memory with the option to expand it to 8GB via the MicroSD slot. Motorola are boasting up to approximately 330 minutes of talk time and up to approximately 450 hours of standby time.

Motorola Evoke QA4 will be available in Q2 2009 in the US. No word on UK availability or pricing.
