7digital to offer chance to buy Spotify playlists

Teaming up for downloads

30 March 2009 9:52 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Spotify and 7digital have announced a team-up that will see 7digital's MP3 music downloads available directly through the Spotify application.

This will mean Spotify users can purchase 320kbps MP3 downloads (with some FLAC tracks available) from the 6 million strong catalogue of tracks available through 7digital.com.

Users will be able to buy MP3 tracks and albums by right-clicking on streamed tracks and selecting the "Buy From 7digital.com" option.

In future, as well as individual track and album downloads, users will be able to purchase playlists that have been created within Spotify through 7digital.com at what's promised to be a "discounted price".
