Virtual Console Arcade launches on Wii

Arcade action added

26 March 2009 9:09 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Nintendo has announced some arcade game action for the Nintendo Wii with the launch of Virtual Console "Arcade".

Classic arcade games are available to download through the Wii Shop Channel, starting with Gaplus, Mappy, The Tower of Druaga and STARFORCE.

Rather than trying to find the coin slot on your Wii, each game will feature virtual credits that you can add at will and some will boast game settings too.

The four titles announced are described as "favourites" from Namco Bandai and Tecmo while games from other "big-name publishers" are promised soon.

Virtual Console arcade games are available to download via the Wii Shop Channel for 500 Nintendo Points.
