Wacom launches Intuos4 pen tablet

25 March 2009 10:47 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Wacom has unveiled the Intuos4, a professional pen tablet system aimed at photographers, designers and artists.

Boasting "new pen performance", the Intuos4 is said to be capable "of capturing the slightest nuance of pen pressure against the tablet surface", as well as offering 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The slimline tablet offers customisable shortcut and modifier keys with OLED displays showing the function setting of each key as well as a "Touch Ring" that can control four different functions in any application.

A new reversible design for left- and right-handers means the tablet can be rotated 180 degrees for the ExpressKeys to be on the right (sorry, correct) side as long as the driver software is changed.

With a weighted pen stand and alternate nibs, the Intuos4 is available from £199.99 for the small model to £699.99 for the extra large option.
