• wireless connectivity of some sort makes file xfer much simpler. Having used Whispernet I find it a double edge sword as it can let Amazon have access to your device anytime they want once you allow the device to go into sleep mode with Whispernet turned on. Posted by brecklundin, US
• If that thing is even slightly water resistant (as in rain drops) it could potentially completely replace our company's reliance on old-fashioned clipboards and 4-ply order sheets. I don't see ports or vents, only the power button along the top and a rubber-plugged port on one side, so it is possible it could turn out to be just such a device. • Yay for not having a freaking keyboard! If I want to type, I'll use a netbook. Not at all bothered by the lack of mobile network connectivity. WiFi would be nice, but not a deal breaker.
  
  The big question, though, is what formats does it support? Also, can I mount it as a mass storage device or will Samsung try to foist crappy proprietary software on me? Posted by David Banham, Australia

• it has a good size. no matter if it don't has WIFI connection or whatever, the important thing is the capability of read pdf, doc, txt, etc... and a long life battery.

• I just want a good screen, decent user serviciable battery, standard USB port to sync/charge, standard formats (txt,jpg,doc,pdf, maybe .cbr).

• I don't think that backlighting is an option for ePaper technology but they could certainly use front lighting similar to the light wedge (http://www.amazon.com/LightWedge-Original-Book-Light-Black/dp/B000VR1NIU/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1237992938&sr=8-5).
  
  I for one hope that the keyboards never disappear from the Kindle. I do my best to keep my screen dirt and smudge free... that'll be hard to do when I have to put my fingers all over it. Sure, I could use a stylus but then I've got something in both hands. Posted by Ken Sturgeon, USA

• I'm already averse to the font. Kindle's isn't much better. When are they going to give the role of fonts in traditional publishing their due?
  
  As far as wireless, when you get lost with nothing but your Samsung Papyrus on you, you might wish you'd spent the extra dough for the Kindle's GPS system and two-click Google Maps access. Posted by Stephen Peters, United States
• I like the simple design, main thing is for reading and I already load my eBooks via the PC to my PDA.
  
  I hope that huge margin can be reduced so a bigger screen area can be utilized for the text and as one comment says, the font is not the greatest for reading.

• A number of readers seem to have missed the point. EV-DO is used on the Kindle to download books natively to the device, not to go surfing the web like on a netbook.
  
  Having said this, the inclusion of EV-DO on the Papyrus would be needless unless Samsung had a similar store to Amazon from which people could purchase and download books. Posted by K.A. Noone, U.K.

  The form factor is too small for books, the memory is anemic, and any added functionality is negligible. I sold a Palm Zire (m150) from circa 2000 that had just about as good specs as this (except the Palm only had 2MB of memory).

• I think every user would like to see nice hi-res type under just about any ambient lighting conditions. E-paper and backlit both have advantages.
  
  The real limiting factor is power. When batteries and low power technology fully evolve, we'll have the killer app that has everything.

• Why, for gud's sake, would you like use the internet on it? A product as papyrus is oriented for reading ebooks that you could effortless transfer from your PC... It could just take seconds saving hundreds of books, why would you pay for shitty books from kindle store? Seriously speaking, what kind of readers are going to spend over 350 bucks and then buy books writen by nobodies? what a big reader you are, though! just check out those "wonderful books" offered at the top of the kindle store's web site: "Always looking up" by J.J. Fox; "Run for your life" by James Patterson on so on. OMG, Certainly you don't know anything about literature. You are probably that kind of people who buy the latest blue-ray for watching Jean Claude Van Damme... Have you ever heard about Fellini, Bergman?
  
  Kindle has nice features, indeed, but it's still more expensive... there are not any big deal purchasing kindle at least you wanna spend more money. Paying for reading bloggs? what a deal, then BUY a kindle and have fun.
