BT survey says teamwork is victim of recession

24 March 2009 10:44 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

A BT Business survey has shown that teamwork is another victim of the current economic climate.

UK workers are apparently showing a "natural reaction to protect their own jobs in the downturn", according to YouGov research involving over 3700 workers.

Just 19% of respondents said they prefer to work with colleagues with more than one in ten employees admitting to becoming more insular and more than a quarter putting in longer hours.

BT Business says the findings show employees are "instinctively protecting their own work-stacks in tougher economic conditions".
