A new speaker has launched that hopes to let music fans rid their living room of cumbersome looking speakers by hiding in a lamp.

Called the Amplamp, the lamp houses an amp and speakers with your décor being none the wiser.

The speaker allows you to adjust volume, control the bass and even set the spatial awareness of the speakers that are housed around the lamps two light bulbs.

The lamp, which can be independently controlled, allows users to plug in an MP3 player, iPod or other music gadgets via the 3.5mm and Phono left and right audio sockets.

The AmpLamp is currently on sale in Harrods with prices starting from around £1200 although prices will vary depending on the style of lamp base and the shade you choose.
