Never one to settle for official photos, Pocket-lint has grabbed a gallery of hands-on shots of the new Pearl and Onyx (black to you and me) Adamo laptops from Dell.

Things to check out in the images are the different metal finishes - brushed aluminium or smooth, the new font on the keyboards and the unibody design on the pearl version.

The W x D x H dimensions are 13.03 x 9.5 x 0.65 inches while the chassis is milled from a single piece of aluminium, with a "scalloped" backlit keyboard.

There's an edge-to-edge, high-def glass display and the machine, as previously mentioned, will be available in "Onyx" and "Pearl".

With prices starting at £1649 ($1999 in the US) Dell has found ways to tempt folk to spend more with a range of accessories, including an exclusive line of bags from TUMI.

Extras from Dell will include external storage options with 250GB or 500GB external hard drives, an external DVD+/-RW or Blu-ray disc drive, a matching 8GB USB drive and "connectors and cables".
