It seems Resident Evil 5 certainly wanted to make its debut into the UK All Formats chart this week a memorable one, as it stormed straight in at number one, selling more copies than the rest of the titles in the top ten combined.Chart-Track also confirmed that the Xbox 360 once again had the edge on its competitor, taking 55% of the sales compared to the PS3's 45%.
Elsewhere in the chart, Wii Fit worked its way back to number two, followed by Tom Clancy's Hawx and Professor Layton and the Curious Village, while Killzone 2 drops to number five.
Last week's number one, Empire: Total War, takes a tumble to eight, but Street Fighter IV slips completely out of the top ten to 13 for the first time since its release.
Other new entries failed to penetrate the top flight this week, including SOCOM: Confrontation at 11, Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force at 16 and Sonic and the Black Knight at 30.
