Microsoft is working on the next-generation version of its "Surface" coffee table computer, it's been revealed.
Several developers at the US South by Southwest Festival have informed the BBC that a new model of the Surface is 2 to 3 years away.
Chris Bernard, user experience evangelist for Microsoft, told the Beeb he could not confirm a release date.
The second-gen Surface will use a technology that's been dubbed "Second Light", and was recently demoed to the public for the first time.
Second Light projects images onto a layer above the Surface's surface and can be controlled by mid-air gestures and movements.
The Microsoft Surface is launching in the UK this week.
