Toshiba is hoping to smarten up the portable hard drive world with the launch of the Toshiba Store Steel, a 1.8- and 2.5-inch range of hard drives for the fashion conscious.

Available in 4 variants - silver, black, gold and titanium, the new models, which will start at around £65, will offer storage capacities of up to 500GB for your data needs.

Those worried about scratching that shiny surface need not, as the drive will come with a leather pocketable pouch.

The company has also announced the launch of the Store Art, that promises to couple "large-scale external storage with stylish clean, sleek design".

Available in piano black, it will come in three sizes; 160GB, 500GB and 1TB and feature a SATA USB 2.0 socket. Prices start from £65.
