Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung Lucido in the UK market at what is said to be a "competitive mid-range price".

Said to be created with "all the style and many of the features" of the Tocco Ultra Edition, the Samsung Lucido has a traditional candybar design.

Samsung says the phone's "simple, sleek" design incorporates "premium metal" detailing and a slimline form (11.8mm) and inspired the phone's name. "Lucido" apparently means "sleek" in Italian.

The Lucido offers a 2.2-inch AMOLED screen, a 5-megapixel camera with face detection, smile shot and anti-blur technology and up to 8GB of expandable memory.

There's also A-GPS navigation via Google Maps, 7.2Mbps HSDPA browsing, FM radio, accelerometer, Bluetooth and the mysterious "etiquette pause" feature.

The Samsung Lucido will be available on all networks and major retailers in April.
