Sky Player gets Mac support

Apple computer owners can access Sky's online TV service

12 March 2009 16:00 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Although launched as a service for both PCs and Macs back in December, Sky is now showing "new" Mac support for its catch-up and on demand online service.

Sky Player, the satellite broadcaster's answer to the BBC's iPlayer - although a subscription-based service, can now be watched on Apple computers.

That is, as long as your Apple computer is an Intel-based Mac and has Microsoft's "Silverlight" browser plug-in.

It's not all good news though - the service for Mac owners is not quite as complete as for PCs, as on-demand movies and entertainment aren't available yet.
