Alpine has launched a new car stereo system that allows you to control your iPod in your car via the main control deck.

Customers looking to invest will be able to plug their iPod straight into the Alpine CDE 9850Ri stereo and there is no need for a separate adaptor.

The CDE 9850Ri is compatible with all latest iPods including the iPod video and iPod nano.

Users will also be able to quick search their iPod's music collection using the stereo's display and QuickSearch function.

On the music side the stereo features 50W x 4 High Power Amplifier (Micro Dynamics), a drop down front, MP3 Text Information Display (ID3 Tag), and MP3/WMA Decoder/Playback.

The player also features a pop-up rotary knob and a silver face with blue or red illumination buttons.

The Alpine CDE 9850Ri will cost £249.
