Firebox is offering a new kind of kitchen gadget - an egg timer that sings.
As well as offering beeps at various stages of the egg boiling process, the "BeepEgg" will play certain songs to denote egg hardness.
The theory is when you hear "Killing Me Softly" emanating from your egg pan then you'll know your egg is done to soft-boiled status, while two further tunes denote medium and hard.
To stop the ovoid singing, you can drop it in cold water.
With a not very eco-friendly non-replaceable 18-month battery life, the BeepEgg is on sale now from Firebox for £15.
