Bowers and Wilkins to unveil Panorama in the UK

6 March 2009 16:13 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Due to be announced for the UK market this month, Bowers & Wilkins will launch the Panorama, describing it as a "new breed of soundbar".

Angled as the "ideal" way to upgrade your 37-inches-and-up flatscreen TV's sound, the one-box solution claims to offer simple connection and set up.

Claiming to offer surround sound with a wide "sweet spot", the Panorama gets nine drive units, five of which are utilised in the active centre speaker: two bass woofers, two midrange drivers
and an aluminium dome tweeter featuring B&W's Nautilus "Tube Loaded" tech.

The other four drive units are located within their own enclosure and all the drive units are powered by six class D amplifiers, providing a combined power output of 175 Watts.

Suitable for either wall-mounting or to be freestanding, the Panorama shares B&W's "Zeppelin" iPod speaker styling with a black and aluminium finish.

The Panorama will be available from April, and will cost £1500, or around 2000 euros.
