The forthcoming Beatles-themed music game has been given a name and a launch date, fans of the Fab Four will be delighted to hear.
Harmonix, the developers behind the game, has revealed that "The Beatles: Rock Band" will go on sale on 9 September 2009 - so on 09/09/09.
The number nine is significant to Beatles fans as the group recorded a psychedelic track called "Revolution 9" that repeats the digit over and over again.
An official site has just gone live that lets gamers (and Beatles fans eager for the first ever digital tracks from the group) to sign up for alerts when pre-ordering begins.
The game is due to launch simultaneously in North America, Europe, Australia and will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.
As well as support for the more usual instruments, “a limited number of new hardware offerings modelled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout their career”, is promised.
Any guesses? We will keep you posted.
