Pretec has launched two new memory cards, both with claims of "record breaking" specs.First up is the world's first 32GB SDXC card, a next-generation card that can hit read/write speeds of 50MB/s, and will be able to reach capacities of 2TB in the future.
The small form factor, flash-based standard is currently still in development, with no devices that currently support it. However, Pretec has still announced that it plans to extend its capacity to 64GB by the end of the year.
The company also announced what it is claiming as the fastest compact flash card in the world.
With transfer speeds of 100MB/s and capacities from 4GB up to 64GB, the 666x actually broke Pretec's own record for the fastest CF card - previously at 433x.
The 666x also features metal housing and a tough construction making it resistant to impact and shock.
This card will begin testing in April, with prices and availability on both cards to follow. We'll keep you updated. Hardware, Storage, Memory cards, Cameras, Pretec
