Apple Time Capsule and Airport Extreme updated

Aside from new Apple iMac's and Mac mini's, Apple has also launched an update to its Time Capsule networking hub.

The new AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi Base Station and Time Capsule now feature simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band networking for, say Apple, greater "performance, range and compatibility".

The company has also added a Guest Network feature that allows users to set up a secondary network for friends and visitors with internet-only access so you don’t have to hand out your Wi-Fi password.

Time Capsule will be available in two models: a 500GB model for £229 and a 1TB model for £379.

The AirPort Extreme Base Station is also available immediately for a suggested retail price of £139.
