AgfaPhoto is set to launch a new outdoor camera at PMA 2009, in the form of the Optima 830UW.Waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof, the 830UW can be used for underwater to depths up to 10 metres, take photos in temperatures down to -5 degrees and withstand a fall of 1 metre.
As for base specs, the Optima 830UW is an 8-megapixel snapper with 3x optical zoom, high photo sensitivity of up to ISO 1600, a 2.5-inch display, and 21 scene modes, including one specific for shooting underwater.
The camera also features a built-in image stabiliser, smile detection, and a panorama function. With the included "Zoner PanoramaMaker" software, you can later stitch these shots together and make 360-degree shots on your computer.
The AgfaPhoto OPTIMA 830UW is available in the States this month for $349.95, around £250. No details have been announced for Europe as yet, but we'll keep you updated. Cameras, Digital cameras, Compact cameras, 8 megapixels, PMA2009, Agfaphoto
