Nokia's plans to offer Skype's VoIP service on its flagship N97 phone are not popular with UK mobile operators, it's being suggested.
Mobile Today reports that a "rift" has emerged between Nokia and operators over the Skype plans with O2 and Orange said to have "responded furiously" to the announcement.
With "anger" over the scheme said to have been "vented" in "high-level discussions", the operators are said to be threatening not to stock the phone unless the app is removed.
However, T-Mobile is said to be "offering its support for the scheme", while 3 already bundles Skype with various handsets.
