The Getac PS535F, described as a next generation fully rugged GPS PDA, has been announced for launch.
Featuring a camera, altimeter and e-compass, the tough handheld is primarily aimed at companies to equip their field-based employees with.
The new Windows Mobile 6.1 PDA offers a 3-megapixel auto-focus camera, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with sunlight readable tech, 2GB memory and the boast of 8 hours battery life.
There's Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and GIS server hook-up for transmitting or processing data in the field.
Said to be good to go for use in harsh environments, the PS535F is compliant with MIL-STD 810F and IP54 with safeguards against frequent drops and exposure to water, dust and extreme temperatures.
