Carphone Warehouse to cut 450 jobs
Positions "at risk"

The Carphone Warehouse has announced that 450 jobs are currently "at risk" after a review of its operations.
The retailer appears to be suffering knock-on effects from the downturn, with operators like Vodafone recently announcing 500 job cuts and manufacturer Nokia asking 1000 staff to quit.
Carphone Warehouse is said to have begun talks with its London-based head office staff as well as with call centre workers in Preston, Warrington and Wednesbury in the West Midlands.
Despite the changes to back office operations, Carphone Warehouse has no plans to close any shops and store worker's jobs are said to be safe for now.
