Jessops to offer Canon Ixus 100 IS first in the UK

Black version of the slim compact available now

Jessops has announced that it will be the first UK retailer to sell the new Canon Ixus 100 IS in black.

Touted as the slimmest ever Ixus model, it features 12.1 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and optical image stabiliser.

On top of the HD movie capture capability and HDMI output for your TV, you'll also get standard features like face detection, self timer and auto red eye technology.

The Ixus 100 IS is just one of eight new cameras that Canon launched last week, all of which will also be available from Jessops stores and online once they are released.

The Ixus 100 IS is available now, ahead of its expected release date, in black only for £299. If you're interested in the silver, red or gold options we heard of at launch, you'll have to be patient a little while longer.

We got to check out the Ixus 100 IS in the flesh earlier in the week - so be sure to check out the link below for plenty of hands on snaps.
