Sony has launched a new 6 megapixel point and shoot camera called the Sony Cyber-shot S600 aimed at photographers taking their first step into digital photography.Besides the 6 megapixels, the Cyber-shot S600 features a 31mm Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x Optical Zoom lens and a 2-inch screen on the rear of the camera.
The entry-level model also features 32MB of internal memory and "anti-blur" technology allowing you to shoot in difficult conditions, such as low light, without the risk of hand shake blurring your pictures.
Another feature Sony is keen to promote on the new model is an improved super Strong Flash. According to Sony, it is capable of taking shots using the flash from up to 11m away from the subject (at ISO 1000).
Sony are also touting 460 shots on a single charge of two optional 2500mAh Ni-MH batteries as well as seven pre-set Scene Selection modes, including Twilight, Snow, Beach and High Sensitivity functions.
The Cyber-shot S600 will be available throughout Europe from mid-January 2006. Cameras, Compact cameras, 6 megapixels, Sony, Digital cameras
