Microsoft Research has revealed its "SecondLight" technology, new touch-related tech that works in a similar way to the company's "Surface" touchscreen "coffee table" computer.

As well as supporting multitouch, SecondLight can detect gestures above the surface by projecting an image through the display to appear on something held above it, such as paper.
