LG Electronics has unveiled what it says is an "affordable" high definition monitor, the W2442PA-BF, in the UK.

Aimed at "media enthusiasts", the new monitor offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

There's DVI and HDMI connectivity so can connect to both a PC and a next-gen gaming console with a 2ms grey-to-grey response time, the spec to note for gamers.

Digital fine contrast ratio comes in at 10,000:1 on certain settings while brightness is 300 nits.

Powered by LG's picture enhancing chipset, F-Engine, the W2442PA-BF is said to "constantly adjust" the colour definition and colour reproduction of the image on the screen.

The W2442PA-BF is available now with an online price check showing the cost as between £219 and £229.
