• Nice; but pity it does not include a piggy back through connection on one of the Sat lines to connect through to an integrated freesat tv. 2 cables from a dual lnb is acceptable but 3 cables is pushing it a bit. Posted by Christopher Cain, United Kingdom
• Would I be able to burn my AVCHD clips to a Blu-ray disk in this machine? Via it's Hard Disk, so I can edit the clips first before burning to disk. Posted by Barry, England
• Barry - you can definitely take AVCHD clips and put them on Blu-ray. You can also move AVCHD to the HDD, whether there will be enough scope to edit them to any extent before then archiving to Blu-ray, I don't know.   I presume the transfer to the HDD would be from a SD disk? Is there a SD card reader on the front like the DMR-HS2 units have? As there is no HDMI input socket shown on the rear, just output. That would be ideal, an HDMI input socket. But beggars can't be choosers I suppose. Posted by Barry, England

• Am I missing something, Does the unit have HDMI to the TV, This is the state of the art unit and SCART will be old hat in no time? Also I assume it will be the one of the first unit to record 5.1 surround sound, can anyone confirm this Posted by David, Surret, UK
• David - yes, it has an HDMI connection for your TV with the Scart and Component connections thrown in for older screens. It also does bitstream recording, so yes, you'll get everything that is being broadcast, including the full 5.1 soundtrack. Posted by chrishall, United Kingdom
