Samsung has announced the release of the 9-megapixel PL10, describing it as a "multimedia camera with advanced technology perfect for photography enthusiasts and amateurs alike".

On the specs side of things, the PL10 gets a 2.7-inch LCD, digital image stabilisation, smart auto for scene settings, up to ISO 3200, intelligent face recognition that prioritises family in pics as well as blink detection mode and smile mode.

In addition, the camera offers PMP features complete with an integrated MP3 player that promises instant access to movies and tunes at the touch of a button as well as the ability to add MP3 music to slideshows.

The PL10 is available from April 2009 in a range of colours including silver, royal black, arty red, candy pink and purple and will cost around £179.
