Further to the news we've brought you about the little laptop, Dell has now officially launched the Inspiron Mini 10 in the UK.

Described as a "mini-notebook that adds keyboard comfort and even more entertainment-friendly dimensions to the Inspiron Mini family", the Mini 10 joins the Mini 9 and Mini 12 in the company's netbook line-up.

With a starting weight of 1.3kg, the Mini 10 runs Windows XP Home and boasts a 92% of full size keyboard and a 10.1-inch WSVGA "edge-to-edge" 16:9 widescreen display.

There's also a multitouch gesture recognising touchpad that Dell says lets users navigate the screen using simple movements to rotate, scroll and zoom documents and photos.

Specs include an HDMI output, wireless 802.11 b/g and optional 802.11 Draft-N, built-in webcam, optional Bluetooth, 1GB RAM and a choice of 120GB or 160GB hard drives.

The Mini 10 is available in a range of colours including obsidian black, alpine white, cherry red, pretty pink, ice blue and jade green.

If you're not desperate to grab one now, Dell says that Mini 10 optional features planned for later this year include an internal digital TV tuner, optional mobile broadband, optional built-in GPS, up to 2GB RAM and 250GB hard drive and a version running Ubuntu 8.04.

The Mini 10 will be available in Europe starting 26 February from £299 including VAT and delivery.
