Sony has announced the launch of new wireless SingStar microphones, describing them as "easy to pass around".

The lead-free accessories are coming to UK stores on 20 March, with the launch in time for the release of SingStar Pop Edition for PS3 in April.

Compatible with both PS3 and PlayStation 2, Sony says in "SingStar community" trials, 99% of participants rated the wire-free microphones as "excellent" or "very good".

The SingStar Pop Edition game will offer a new voice control feature that will let games speak into their wireless SingStar microphones to announce which track they want to sing next, as well as being about to shop and search through the SingStore Carousel using voice.
