Business First (and only)

Gateway, most famous for their cow packaging, and part of the Acer group, are to see a reintroduction to Europe, with Acer pitching the brand at business.

Those in the US will still find Gateway as a consumer brand, aligned with Packard Bell in Europe, but in EMEA territories, Gateway will be business-only and not available in the "consumer channel".

The new Gateway line-up will consist of a range of notebooks, desktops, servers and monitors that the company claim will be free from "superfluous" components, whilst still meeting all your business needs.

Several notebook varieties will be launched, coming in 12.1- and 15.4-inch screen sizes, with magnesium cases for durability. With an eye on security, you’ll also get a trusted platform module in all notebooks to keep your passwords secure and a fingerprint scanner.

Three desktop models, which you’ll be able to partner with a choice of 19- and 22-inch format monitors, will also be available.

Only Microsoft Professional software options (i.e., Vista Business) and Linux options will be supplied.

The new range will be available from the end of March for business customers only.
