Canon has launched its slimmest ever Digital IXUS model the 12.1-megapixel Digital IXUS 100 IS, and the 10-megapixel Digital IXUS 95 IS.

Both models offer Canon's DIGIC 4 processing, a 3x optical zoom, and a 2.5-inch PureColor LCD II.

Included tech encompasses an image stabilizer, motion detection, face detection, and on the Digital IXUS 100 IS, the new blink detection.

Both models also get a smart auto mode, which uses Canon's scene detection technology for what's said to be easy shooting.

The Digital IXUS 100 IS also includes the option to shoot HD movies (1280 x 720, 30fps) and HDMI connectivity.

The Digital IXUS 100 IS, with its 18.4mm wide stainless steel body, is finished in a choice of silver, black, gold or red while the IXUS 95 IS is offered in silver, grey, blue or pink.

The IXUS 100 IS will be available from mid-March at £299.00/349.00 euros while the IXUS 95 IS will be available from mid-February priced at £249.00/299.00 euros.
