With HD movie capture

Samsung has announced the IT100, a 12-megapixel compact camera with HD movie capture.

With a 5x optical zoom, and 28mm wide angle lens, the IT100 also boasts a 3-inch TFT LCD screen, dual image stabilisation and high sensitivity up to ISO 3200 for shots in low light.

The HD movie capture benefits from a Samsung-patented function of being able to "pause and re-record" HD videos in one movie clip, while the "Smart Auto" scene recognition can automatically choose between 11 camera settings to ensure you get the best snap from the shooting conditions.

The IT100 also includes Samsung's "Smart Album" digital contents management system that allows you to organise your photo based on the date they were taken, their contents, colour or themes, to help you find them quicker later.

Other features you'll find are face detection, blink detection, "Frame" guide and smile mode, as well as beauty shot that automatically retouches faces to make them look their best. The self portrait mode is also handy, as it beeps when you're in shot to prevent cut-off pictures.

The IT100 is set to launch in a range of colours including silver, black, and red and will be available in April for £229.
