Fujifilm unveils "fresh and funky" FinePix Z30

Dubbed "the essential party camera"

Fujifilm has unveiled the new FinePix Z30, a "fresh and funky" compact that the company describes as "the essential party camera".

Apparently aimed at the style-conscious user, the FinePix Z30 has evolved from the popular FinePix Z20fd. It boasts 10 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, and a 2.7-inch screen to view all your snaps on.

Features include face detection technology and picture stabilisation, ISO sensitivity to 1600, and new scene recognition auto - a feature that allows the camera to select the best setting for the picture depending on the shooting conditions.

The Z30 also includes two self-timer modes - the Couple Timer and Group Timer - which will only take the shot once the correct number of faces are in the frame.

Finally, the Dual Blog mode allows you to automatically resize both pictures and movies you've captured into web-friendly sizes, so they can be uploaded online quicker.

The FinePix Z30 has a two tone colour scheme, with a metallic sliding lens cover against the matte body. It will be available in fuchsia pink, jet black, pure white or tangy orange.

Prices and availability are yet to be announced - more when we get it.

UPDATE: Fuji has confirmed the price will be £169.99
