Expanding on the confirmation yesterday that LG would be launching Android handsets in 2009, the company revealed a little more detail to Pocket-lint.

LG plans to launch “several” Android handsets in 2009 and we should see the first device hitting shelves this summer, with others to follow.

Withholding the specifics, LG did confirm that one of these handsets will be a 3G variant of the KS360, the full QWERTY slider, which has social networking at its core.

Following the launch of their new S-Series user interface and several innovative handsets, LG look to be taking Android seriously. We’ll bring you all the details as soon as we know them.
