Ricoh has announced the launch of the Caplio R30 compact digital camera featuring a 5.7x optical wide zoom (28-160mm in 35mm camera format) in a silmline body only 26mm thick.The 5 megapxiel camera is positioned as a more affordable version of the Caplio R3 (Released on November 11, 2005), which featured a 7.1x optical wide zoom lens.
The camera features a 2.5inch LCD screen and the ability to shoot approximately 330 pictures on one battery charge.
Images are saved onto the cameras 28Mb of internal memory or on to a separate SD card.
The camera also offers nine scene modes including Portrait, Sports, Distant Landscape, Night Scene, Text, High Sensitivity, Skew Correction, Zoom Macro along side movie support.
While the cameras macro mode lets you take a macro shot of an object from as close as just 1cm.
The Caplio R30 will be available from January, priced at £219.99 Cameras, Compact cameras, 5 megapixels, Ricoh, Digital cameras
