ALK Technologies has announced that its CoPilot Live navigation software will be available for the Touch Cruise smartphone from HTC.The fully integrated solution provides voice-guided navigation as well as navigation-based services such as live local search and weather information via the phone's mobile internet connection.
A customised version of CoPilot Live, complete with full street maps of a country or region, is preinstalled on the phone and integrated with HTC's "FootPrints" photo navigation application.
Offering colourful 3D maps or a "non-distracting" Driver Safety mode, there's also a pedestrian option for exploring cities on foot.
Complete with a car kit that can connect to a Bluetooth headset, HTC's Touch Cruise with CoPilot Live navigation will be available in certain European and Worldwide regions from Q1 2009. Phones, HTC, CoPilot, Mapping Software, Car And GPS, MWC2009
