Nokia has announced that it will follow Apple and other manufacturers in launching its own app store.The new Ovi store will be available from May and be available on over 50 million S40 and S60 handsets around the world.
Available as a downloadable app, the first handset that will come pre-loaded with the download store will be the Nokia N97 due out in June.
However attempting to differ itself from other app stores on other OS's the store will aim to offer localised apps for where you are.
Content creators will be able to submit applications via a dedicated site (Publish.ovi.com).
As with Apple, Nokia will take 30% of the revenue from applications sold on the store.
Nokia has said that it has already signed up partners like Facebook, EA, Qik, MySpace and lonely planet. Phones, Apps, Nokia, MWC2009, Ovi
