Nokia could be about to release an 8-megapixel camera phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona if an image that has appeared on the Internet is to be believed.

The image, which has turned up on Nokia fan site, the Nokia Blog, claims to have been taken with the new mystery phone although no hardware has been seen as yet.

The site claims the clues are in the exif data that shows a resolution of 3274 x 2448 (8 megapixels) and the model being a "Nokia Undisclosed (Carl Zeiss)".

Nokia has confirmed to Pocket-lint that it will be announcing new handsets at the annual show in Barcelona, however hasn't confirmed whether or not an 8-megapixel camera phone is on the cards.

Up until now, the company has only ever released a 5-megapixel camera on its phones, rumours were suggesting that Samsung was to launch a 12-megapixel camera phone at the show, however sources within Samsung have said this now won't be the case.

Pocket-lint will be at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona bringing you the latest news, First look reviews, photo galleries and videos as it happens.

We will keep you posted.
