Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Platinum Version is heading to Europe in May, 8 months after launching in Japan back in September. The game has proved popular with DS owners in Japan, selling over 2.4 million copies to date, and 1 million of those being sold in the first 3 days on the shelves.
The new Pokémon adventure is set in the Sinnoh region of the Pokémon world, and revolves around the Renegade Pokémon, Giratina, appearing in its new Forme - the Origin Forme.
There are a number of other "legendary" Pokémon to be captured in Pokémon Platinum Version, as well as a new Forme of one of the rarest and most popular Pokémon, Shaymin.
As for new features in the game, there is the all-new Battle Frontier, a special building packed with challenges and tournaments, and an expanded Global Trade Station (now called Global Terminal) where you can check out other people's battles.
There are also new ways to play online, with up to 20 players being able to connect wirelessly and play games together over the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, as well as the ability to save battles via the Vs. Recorder.
Pokemon Platinum version launches across Europe for Nintendo DS on 22 May, with a price to be confirmed.
