Dead Rising 2 confirmed in development

Capcom has confirmed that Dead Rising 2 is in development, and will be making its debut on PS3 and PC, as well as returning to Xbox 360 where it was so successful 3 years ago.

Having been almost pushed into a statement after leaked footage of the game cropped up on YouTube, Capcom has announced that the sequel to the popular survival horror RPG had been handed out to Canadian studio Blue Castle Games.

A number of team members from the original title, released exclusively for Xbox 360 in 2006 and later ported to the Wii, will also be working on the sequel - including Capcom’s global head of research and development Keiji Inafune.

There aren't many details as yet, but we do know Dead Rising 2 will be set a few years after the first title, in a Vegas-like Fortune City where zombie outbreaks are continuing to cause problems.

There is no word on a release date as yet, but we expect more information in the coming months. We'll keep you updated.
