BlackBerry 9300 rumoured

New "Gemini" to be "Curve 3G"

9 February 2009 15:58 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

News has emerged about a new BlackBerry smartphone codenamed "Gemini", from US blog Boy Genius Report's insider sources.

With a working model number of 9300, the 9xxx line of devices is for 3G handsets, so BGR describes this latest model as the BlackBerry Curve "3G".

The screen is said to be larger and higher-res than the BlackBerry Curve 8900, that currently offers a 480 x 360 pixel, 2.44-inch display.

With a "beefed up" CPU, the rumours suggest Wi-Fi and GPS as well as a 3.2-megapixel "or better" camera.

Not said to be available for some time, it's suggested the 9300 will see a late 2009 launch at the earliest, so anyone in the market for a BlackBerry is best not to hang on for this one.
