HTC to launch Snapdragon-based devices in Q2?

Rumours see TG01 rival coming soon

9 February 2009 9:49 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Toshiba's TG01 won't be the only Snapdragon-toting mobile on the market, if Taiwanese news sources are to be believed.

HTC is due to launch devices that feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform in the second quarter of 2009, the reports suggest.

The Snapdragon platform offers a fast 1GHz processor core, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, support for high performance UIs and ultra-low power consumption.

Other manufacturers said to have signed up with Qualcomm are Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Acer and Asus.

Pocket-lint got in touch with HTC in the UK to see if they could confirm the news but were told, "HTC does not comment on rumour or speculation".
