Amazon Kindle 2 images leaked early

It's not supposed to be news until Monday, but that hasn't stopped the Internet delivering details on Amazon's new Kindle ebook before the official launch.

Still only looking like it is slated for the US, the Kindle 2 is expected to hit stores around the end of the month and cost $359.

Not many details as to the specs, however there is a gallery of images to enjoy.

The official announcement is expected on 9 February from Amazon's press conference at Morgan Library in New York.

The news comes as Google announced earlier in the week that it would be making the 1.5 million books currently available on the Google Book service available on a mobile friendly version of the site that has been optimised for all mobile phones, but in particular the Apple iPhone and the Google backed G1 Android handset from T-Mobile.
