The Twitter community is being asked to put their money where their tweets are (or somesuch thing) with February's "Twesitval".

Not just another morphological variation on the Twitter theme, Twestival is a series of events designed to bring Twitter user together IRL and raise money for charity.

On 12 February 2009 over 175 cities around the world will be hosting Twestivals. In addition, people can buy music at Twestival.fm to raise money or just make a plain old-fashioned donation.

The good cause the money is going towards is "Charity: water", described as a non profit organisation that brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations by funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need.

More info on the events, and how to get involved, can be found at Twestival.com.
