Buffalo launches SSD-based LinkStation drive
£740 for new NAS

Buffalo Technology has launched the LinkStation Mini SSD, that it says is the world's first network attached storage (NAS) solid state drive device for consumers.
Buffalo describes the new drive as an "ultra-silent, ultra-reliable, low power consuming, palm-sized" NAS device that allows users to store and share digital content from anywhere on the home network.
With a 240GB capacity and a built-in DNLA media server, users can stream content to a PC, Mac, multimedia device or DNLA supported televisions.
There's also built-in "WebAccess" giving users the option of accessing files via the Internet from their PC, Mac or iPhone, from anywhere in the world when they are on the move.
The LinkStation Mini SSD (the LS-WSS240GL/R1) is available from February 2009 from Amazon, Dabs, Insight or Misco with a suggested retail price of £739.99.
