Xobni to charge for Outlook app?

$19.95 a survey suggests

Xobni has definitely been one of our favourite apps of the last year, optimising searching for Outlook in a way that Microsoft should really take note of.

But a survey mailed round to a “small group” of Xobni users asks how you’d feel if you had to pay for the service. With a display of the available features, the survey asks whether you’d consider paying a one-off fee of $19.95. Is our favourite piece of freeware about to vanish?

Perhaps there is a glimmer of hope however. The survey then goes on to ask how you’d rank various features, such as the integration of information from LinkedIn, Facebook and Hoovers, or the Network listings.

So perhaps there will be a premium, fully featured, edition and a free basic one? I personally could live without the analytics, but use the searches all the time. So what is the future for Xobni? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Oh and some lucky survey participant will win a t-shirt. Fingers crossed.
