Google goes underwater with Google Earth 5.0

Google has announced that it's extended its mapping of the Earth to include the sea and planet Mars for its latest version of Google Earth.
For those of you who keep track of version numbers, Google Earth 5.0 sees a host of new features over the previous version - version 4.3.
Users of the software, will now be able to actually drop below the surface and explore the nooks and crannies of the seafloor in 3D with the company adding data points including videos and images of ocean life, details on the best surf spots, logs of real ocean expeditions, and much more.
In addition to the ocean topography, Google says it has introduced a number of other new features to enhance the way people interact with the Google Earth application.
Users will now be able to view historical imagery within the programme so they can see cities change over time rather than merely showing the latest satellite images.
Additionally Google has added a touring feature that lets users create a narrated, fly-through tour just by clicking the record button and navigating through your tour destinations.
Finally if the earth wasn't enough, Google has also mapped the planet Mars in 3D.
