Nikon has announced the Coolpix P90, a new bridge camera that's described as having "powerful features" in a "compact and portable" body.

Boasting a 24x wide angle optical zoom that offers the 35mm-equivalent of a 26mm wide-angle to a 624mm telephoto range, the P90 is capable of shooting pictures as close up as 1cm and of high-speed continuous shooting of up to 45 shots at 15 fps.

The P90 also features12.1 megapixels, 3-inch vari-angle LCD screen and sensitivity up to ISO 6400. Users can choose between full automatic or various manual settings using the camera’s four exposure modes, and benefit from features that include four anti-blur technologies, Auto Scene, Smile Mode and Face Priority AF, which recognises up to twelve faces.

Users will also be able to capture video on the P90, as well as ensure everyone is looking their best thanks to the Quick Retouch and Blink Warning capabilities.

The P90 will be available in black from 13 March, with an RRP of £379.99.
